Your spiritual practice is private

Last Updated: January 10, 2026

Our Promise

Your spiritual practice is deeply personal. We built MyPuja to support your journey, not to monetize it. We don't sell your data, share it with advertisers, or track you around the internet. We only collect what genuinely helps us make the app better for you.

What Stays Between You & Your Device

Everything that makes your practice uniquely yours stays on your device. We never see:

  • Photos: We request access to your photo library so you can choose images for your Photo Carousel. Your photos stay on your device—we never upload, access, or see them.
  • Custom quotes you write
  • Which quotes you hide or save
  • Which meditations you listen to
  • Which teachers you follow
  • Your meditation timer sessions

In short, your photos, quotes, favorites, meditations, and timer history never leave your iPhone. We don’t upload them, listen to them, or review them—and our analytics stay limited to anonymous event counts (like “Timer started”), never tied to your name or email.

This content lives on your iPhone, protected by your passcode and Face ID. It never gets uploaded to our servers. If you turn on iCloud sync, that sync happens entirely through Apple. If you link Apple Health, MyPuja can save Mindful Minutes to the Health app, but it never reads or imports any other health info.

iCloud Sync (Your Choice)

If you turn on iCloud for MyPuja, your preferences can sync across your Apple devices. This happens through Apple's iCloud, not through us. We never see this data—it's between you and Apple.

Apple Health (Optional)

When you use MyPuja's meditation timer, you can choose to log those sessions as Mindful Minutes in Apple Health. If you switch this on, MyPuja only writes the duration of your session into the Health app. We never read your other health information, and nothing leaves your device. It's a one-way handoff managed by your iPhone.

What We Do See (& Why)

To fix bugs and make MyPuja better, we collect some basic information about how the app is used. Here's what that means:

App Usage Patterns

  • When you open the app
  • Which sections you visit (Quotes, Meditations, Widgets)
  • How long you spend in the app
  • Which features get used most

Why we need this: If nobody uses a feature, maybe it's confusing. If everyone uses it, we know it's working. This helps us decide what to improve and what to build next.

These usage events are logged with simple, non-identifying details—things like the tradition or teaching ID, the language you're using, your app version, whether a widget was added, and how long a meditation played. It's all aggregate insights, not personal dossiers.

Your Device

  • What kind of iPhone or iPad you have
  • Which version of iOS you're running
  • Which version of MyPuja you're using
  • Your general location (like "United States" or "India"—not your street address)

Why we need this: So we know which devices to test on and which iOS versions to support. If lots of people use iPhone 12, we make sure it works great there.

When Things Break

  • If the app crashes, we get an error report
  • How long it took screens to load
  • If something froze or got stuck

Why we need this: Crashes are frustrating. This data helps us find and fix them quickly so your experience stays smooth.

What Stays Private

Your most personal content stays on your device only:

  • Photos: Stored locally on your iPhone only. Never uploaded anywhere.
  • Custom quotes: Stay on your device.
  • Which quotes you hide or favorite: Stay on your device.
  • Meditation timer sessions: Stay on your device (or in your Apple Health app if you enable that sync).

None of this personal content is ever uploaded to our servers.

iCloud Sync (Optional)

If you enable iCloud for MyPuja, your preferences (not photos) can sync across your Apple devices. This sync happens directly between your devices via Apple's iCloud, not through MyPuja servers. We never see this data.

What We Don't Do

Just as important as what we collect is what we don't:

  • We don't sell your data. Not to anyone, ever.
  • We don't work with ad networks. No behavioral ads, no profiling.
  • No advertising identifiers. We don't use IDFA/AAID, cross-site tracking, or per-user profiling.
  • We don't follow you around the internet. We only see what happens in MyPuja.
  • We don't read your content. We can't see which quote touched your heart or which meditation you played.
  • We don't track your precise location. Just your general region, like your country.
  • We don't look at individual people. We look at trends across all users, not what you specifically do.

How This Data Gets Used

The usage data we collect helps us:

  • Figure out what's broken and fix it
  • Make the app faster and more responsive
  • See which features people love (so we can make them better)
  • See which features people ignore (so we can improve or remove them)
  • Decide what to build next based on how people actually use the app
  • Answer your support questions when you reach out

Analytics are aggregated and anonymous—we can't export usage details per specific person even if asked. We don't use this data to send you marketing emails, show you ads, or build a profile of who you are. It's purely to make MyPuja work better.

What We Might Ask For

Depending on how you use MyPuja, we might ask for:

  • Photos access - Photo Carousel setup may prompt you to grant photo access just so you can select images locally; we don't upload or view them.
  • iCloud permission - So your preferences can sync across your Apple devices. (This is completely optional.)
  • Health access - So your meditation sessions can count as Mindful Minutes. (We only write to Health, never read from it. Also completely optional.)

You're in control. Say no to any permission and the app still works—you just won't have access to features that need it.

Who Helps Us

We work with a few trusted companies to make MyPuja possible:

  • Google Analytics 4 (GA4) for aggregated, anonymous app analytics—no advertising or cross-site tracking
  • Cloud providers who store and deliver the quotes and meditations
  • Audio hosting services where meditation teachings live
  • Apple who distributes the app through the App Store

These partners only get the data they need to do their specific job. They don't get your photos, custom content, or anything personal. We have agreements with them that they can't use your data for their own purposes.

Keeping Things Safe

We take security seriously. Here's how your data stays protected:

  • On your device: Your personal content is protected by your iPhone's encryption, passcode, and Face ID/Touch ID
  • In transit: Everything sent between the app and our servers is encrypted
  • In iCloud: If you use iCloud sync, Apple handles encryption both in transit and at rest
  • Behind the scenes: Only a tiny team can access aggregated data, and we never peek at individual users

How We Handle Data

A few policy guarantees:

  • Our analytics are aggregated and not linked to your identity, so we cannot provide individualized usage reports
  • If you contact support, we may request your account email or device info to troubleshoot. That identifying info is used only for support and stays separate from analytics
  • If you delete the app or request deletion of any personal data you provided (for example, support emails), we'll comply. Aggregated analytics already collected are non-identifying and aren't tied to you

You're In Control

Your data, your choice. You can:

  • Start fresh by deleting and reinstalling the app (this generates a new anonymous ID)
  • Control photo access and iCloud sync anytime in your device settings
  • Contact us anytime at privacy@mypuja.app to manage your data or ask questions

Questions? Want to exercise these rights? Just email us at privacy@mypuja.app and we'll help you out.

For Parents

MyPuja is appropriate for all ages. We collect basic usage data (as described above), but we don't collect personal information that could identify your child. Your child's photos, custom quotes, and practice content stay on their device, just like for adults.

If This Policy Changes

If we update this policy, we'll let you know through the app and update this page. We'll always be transparent about what changed and why. And we'll never make changes that compromise the core promise: your practice stays yours.

Questions?

We're here to help. If anything in this policy is unclear, or if you have concerns about your privacy, reach out:

privacy@mypuja.app

In Short: We collect usage data to improve the app. Your photos, custom quotes, and personal content stay on your device. We don't sell data or track you across the web.
